Kauai -The Garden Isle

This is the island to visit for a laid back, old Hawaiian style vacation. With only a handful of big resorts and smaller land mass, this island is much easier to navigate then the 3 other main islands. The lush greenery, beautiful scenic hiking trails and multiple waterfalls make this a great getaway for those who are more of outdoor enthusiast. On the other hand, it can be a great place for families to meet or to bring children. This is the favorite island for my family!

Pro Tips

Its good to know that the weather varies depending on North and South of Island. If you are looking for a sunny beach vacation head south to Poipu. If you don't mind warm rains and want to see abundance of greenery in a small town setting head North to Hanalei. You will find more resorts on the beach in Poipu but Hanalei is a beautiful long stretch of beach where the waves can be calmer. This can also vary depending on the season with summer waters being more wild in the South and wilder Winter waters in the North. Kapaa has many mid range hotels and resorts but the water at a lot of beaches is not swimmable.
